STDs - How To Put A Tab On Its Spread

In the current world scenario, the numbers of cases of STDs reported every year is only increasing. This has been a cause of great worry for the health organizations trying to limit hiv spread. There is a need to educate people, especially those who reside in rural areas and do not have access to effective sex education. Risks for acquiring Sexually Transmitted Diseases are many and one has to pay strict attention to them before indulging in sexual activities.

According to the experts, limiting the number of sex partners to 1 is the best way of avoiding any chances of contracting an STD. People who have multiple partners are more at risk along with those who practice homosexual activities. Apart from these, others who might be at risk include:

a) People who practice unsafe sex i.e. do not use contraceptive devices like condoms.

b) Those who indulge in unnatural ways for example, anal sex.

c) Indulging in sexual activities with those who are carrying the virus.

d) Reusing used syringes in the case of HIV.

It is necessary to take precautions to stop acquiring it which, if done by everyone would mean complete eradication. Remember that while condoms can help reduce the risk by a considerable factor, it does not mean that one can indulge in sex with anyone. Even condoms are not hundred percent effective and there is always a marginal chance where the disease may still be contracted. Beware; this is not a hypothetical concept but something that has been experienced by a lot of people. This is another reason why use of substandard condoms is strictly unadvised.

If we compare people belonging to different age groups, we will find that youngsters are more at risk of acquiring STDs compared to older women. The situation is further aggravated by the fact that it is the younger generation that indulges in it more than anyone else. Curiosity about intercourse makes them take steps which they lament later.

Statistics show that even the most responsible people under the influence of drugs or alcohol fail to follow the safety precautions and end up falling victim to sexually transmitted diseases. Cases of HIV, Hepatitis, Chlamydia, Cystitis, and Syphilis are only increasing. Worse is the fact that many fail to notice the symptoms of these diseases and as a result end up infecting others (another reason for not indulging in intercourse with multiple people).

Countries where sex trading is legal, even though the government makes sure that everyone in the business is clean, there is always some who do not follow the laws and as a result end up infecting the others. It is for your own safety that you do not get involved with such people under any circumstances whatsoever. Containing STDs is in our own hands as everything that causes them can be controlled. If we act as responsible human beings and take measures to make sure that our sexual hygiene is good, there is no way that a new case would come up anywhere.
